About us
Largs Academy has served families across the region for over five decades. We believe that every young person deserves an education that challenges them intellectually, supports them pastorally, and connects them to the wider world.
Our staff are experienced, dedicated, and deeply invested in each pupil's journey — from S1 right through to sixth year. We celebrate academic achievement, but we care just as much about wellbeing, creativity, and the confidence to contribute to society.
We work closely with parents, carers, and our local community, because we know that the best outcomes happen when everyone is pulling in the same direction.
High expectations, expert teaching, and a broad curriculum from National 4 through to Advanced Highers — giving every pupil the qualifications to pursue their ambitions.
Every pupil belongs to a form class and has a named guidance teacher. We take wellbeing seriously, with dedicated counselling and peer support programmes.
From the debating team to the drama production, from Duke of Edinburgh to the school garden — we develop the whole person, not just the exam result.
We welcome pupils of all abilities and backgrounds. Support for learning is embedded across every year group, ensuring no-one is left behind.

This year's sixth-year cohort achieved our strongest Higher pass rate in over a decade, with 41 pupils earning five or more Highers at grade A or B.
